High-chromium white irons that deliver excellent wear resistance in moderate to highly corrosive environments. Our most popular alloy is Ultrachrome® A05, which contains approximately 27% chromium by weight. It provides a great balance of hardness and toughness, effective for general-purpose pumping and applications with very large solids (up to 300mm) at pH4 or above. Provides modest corrosion resistance for impellers, casings, volute liners and throatbushes.
Hypereutectic iron-chrome alloys featuring high proportions of chromium carbide. A61 contains 50% chromium carbide for outstanding erosion resistance — ideal for mill discharge slurries with broad particle size distribution.
A68 combines the robust wear resistance of A61 with the anti-corrosive properties of Ultrachrome® A05 — ideal for moderately corrosive environments requiring harder material than A05.
Highly wear-resistant overlay material engineered for extreme abrasion environments. Applied selectively to high-wear zones such as the impeller eye rather than coating entire components. Field data in oil sands operations has demonstrated markedly improved wear life compared with white iron.
